About The Role

We are an innovative FinTech business and one of the biggest players in the non-standard finance sector, who are expanding our QA/Test team by appointing a fully remote QA (Quality Assurance) Team Lead.

We’re offering a QA Lead the opportunity to develop our approach to test and QA for critical business transformation and cross-business change projects and ultimately support the development of our cutting edge FinTech organisation.

We’re looking for someone with a passion for coaching, mentoring and leading teams to achieve quality in design and implementation to remotely manage a QA team. In addition, you’ll be a force for continuous improvement, and an advocate for agile development.

Key responsibilities  

  • Coordinate and support all test and release activities across multiple development teams as appropriate, ensuring the business and technical requirements for change are thoroughly understood
  • Lead and actively participate in all aspects of the SDLC, championing Agile ways of working, and pro-actively contribute to all events
  • Coach others in understanding system architecture for production & preproduction environments, and supporting systems used to apply changes
  • Help identify and implement the use of appropriate testing tools, test techniques, and test automation to continuously improve quality and Lead Time
  • Encourage team collaboration on test and release process improvements, assessing suitability and defining implementation where appropriate
  • Monitor QA activities, test results, leaked defects, root cause analysis and identify areas of improvement
  • Be an escalation point for all matters related to testing, and quality operating as the primary point of contact for the QA teams
  • Identifying barriers/resistance to quality changes 

About You

We’re looking for an excellent communicator and experienced lead who is enthusiastic to work in an Agile environment. Someone, who is adaptable, able to pick up new techniques and enjoys keeping up to date with advances in mobile/web technologies and how they can be applied to projects. You will also have: 

  • Demonstratable experience operating in a variety of software delivery frameworks, including Scrum
  • Demonstratable experience of defining and executing successful test plans
  • Demonstratable experience of testing at all stages of the SDLC
  • Demonstratable experience leading the test activities on multiple concurrent workstreams
  • Experience expanding testing abilities and knowledge across the development team 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexible in approach and positive about change Strong attention to detail, combined with an appreciation of the wider picture
  • Broad knowledge of a variety of current test and release tools
  • An appreciation of, and experience with, applying test automation techniques
  • Strong knowledge SQL to prepare test data and verify test results
  • Experience with Lean Thinking and the Theory of Constraints
  • Experience of working in the financial sector
